A young man fatally shot on July 5 has been identified as 17-year-old Rayvonne Akers, according to a report by the Los Angeles County coroner's office. Akers was arguing with an unknown group of people, then stepped into his house. When he returned outside, he was fatally shot by an unknown male suspect, said Detective Kerri Potter of LAPD's Southeast Division. (See map after the jump)

The shooting occurred in the 9200 block of Firth Blvd around 12:20 a.m. The gunman is believed to be a gang member, but the victim was not, Det. Potter said.
