Traffic Collision near Grove Street Left 1 Fatality

TAHOE CITY, CA (July 28, 2022) – On Tuesday, a rear-end crash on State Route 28 left Raymond Elam dead, authorities said.

Investigators said the incident happened around 6:23 a.m. on State Route 28 near Grove Street.

Furthermore, according to the report, a Honda HRV driven by an unidentified 33-year-old man, struck 53-year-old Elam while driving his Yamaha Accumax golf cart.

Eventually, the first responders declared Raymond Elam dead at the scene after being ejected from the golf cart.

A large portion of the roadway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties, but has since been reopened to traffic.

No further details regarding the Tahoe City crash are public at this time; however, more information will be provided once made available. An active investigation is currently ongoing.
