58-Year-Old Victim Dies in Pedestrian Accident near G Street

PORTERVILLE, CA (March 15, 2022) – Friday, a hit-and-run crash on Henderson Avenue claimed the life of Ray Schlaepfer, authorities said.

According to the police, the crash happened on Henderson Avenue, in a well-lit area just east of G Street.

Per reports, the driver of a vehicle struck Schlaepfer, who was walking across Henderson Avenue. After the impact, the driver continued to flee eastbound without rendering aid to the severely injured victim.

First responders arrived at the scene and performed CPR on the pedestrian before transporting them to a local hospital. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced 58-year-old Schlaepfer dead.

At this time, Porterville Officials are still working to identify the hit-and-run suspect. An active investigation is currently underway.
