Hit-And-Run on Fifth Avenue Left 66-Year-Old Man Killed

HESPERIA, CA (December 15, 2021) – A  hit-and-run on Main Street claimed the life of Raul Granillo Friday night.

Officials responded to the incident around 8:12 p.m. at Main Street and Fifth Avenue.

Upon arrival, deputies located the male victim unresponsive and lying in the Number 1 Lane on Main Street, west of Fifth Avenue.

Furthermore, according to witnesses, a silver F-150 struck the victim and fled the area going westbound without rendering aid.

Eventually, authorities pronounced 66-year-old Raul Granillo dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, police located and arrested 19-year-old Pedro Rosas for hit-and-run before booking him to High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto.

However, officials released Rosas the following day after posting bail.

Meantime, Hesperia Authorities are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run to contact Sgt. Brendan Motley at 760-947-1500.
