Cops over the weekend alleged that a UCLA student choked a woman with the intent to rape her.

The crime at Theta Chi fraternity was reported about 2:30 a.m. Friday. A suspect, 20-year-old Paul Meyer, wasn't booked until 8:13 p.m. that day, according to L.A. County Sheriff's Department inmate data.

The suspect is a member of Theta Chi, according to reports. UCLA police responded to the house based on a report of an aggravated assault, the school said.

Cops believe Meyer choked the victim, who was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and released.

Meyer was released at 9:07 p.m. Saturday after bond was posted with him, according the sheriff's data and UCLA.

He was scheduled to be in court April 4.
