29-Year-Old Rider Dead after Fatal Collision on Rainbow Boulevard

LAS VEGAS, NV (May 27, 2021) – 29-year-old Randy Schlagel died Thursday evening after a fatal motorcycle accident on Westcliff Drive.

The tragic collision happened around 8:05 p.m., May 20th. Emergency crews arrived at the intersection of Westcliff Drive and S. Rainbow Boulevard.

According to reports, a Kawasaki sports bike was traveling southbound on North Rainbow Road at a high rate of speed. Just south of Westcliff Drive, the sports bike struck a northbound Toyota Tacoma truck in the left turn lane.

Investigators say the Kawasaki motorcycle remained attached to the truck as it rotated and came to rest underneath the vehicle.

Medical personnel arrived at the scene and found Schlagel suffering from multiple blunt force injuries. He was later pronounced dead on scene.

The Toyota driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Officers say he showed no signs of impairment.
