Randy McLean Dies in Fatal DUI Collision near Longview

COWLITZ COUNTY, WA (May 25, 2021) – 64-year-old Randy McLean died Tuesday afternoon after a fatal DUI accident on State Route 4.

The accident occurred at milepost 52, just west of Longview around 5:49 p.m., on May 18.

According to WSP, McLean was driving eastbound on the freeway when he crossed the centerline and collided with a westbound vehicle.

As a result of the crash, McLean was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, Jason Anderson, was injured in the collision. Rescuers took him to St. John’s Medical Center for further treatment. His condition has not yet been updated.

Authorities stated that both men were the sole occupants of their vehicles. They also stated that they were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

According to officers, drugs or alcohol were involved in the fatal incident. However, this crash remains under investigation.
