67-Year-Old Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 101

SANTA MARGARITA, CA (July 29, 2021)Randolph Earl, 67, of Atascadero tragically died Monday night following a motorcycle accident on Highway 101.

The fatal crash happened just after 9:40 p.m. July 12, on Highway 101 and Tassajara Creek Road.

According to the CHP, Earl was riding a 1997 Harley northbound on Highway 101 when he collided with the side of a 2021 Jeep turning onto the highway from Tassajara Creek Road.

Earl was thrown from his motorcycle as a result of the impact.

Emergency crews rushed the Atascadero rider to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

The Jeep driver, who was only identified as a 45-year-old Sacramento resident, did not sustain any injuries.

Authorities currently do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role. However, an active investigation is still underway.
