71-Year-Old Randle Lawrence Durant Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision on Nevada 789

WINNEMUCCA, NV (September 7, 2021) Randle Lawrence Durant lost his life Friday afternoon after a head-on collision involving a pickup truck and a bus on Nevada 789.

The crash happened about 5:39 p.m. August 27, on Nevada 789, 9 miles inside the Humboldt County line.

According to the investigation, Durant was driving a Toyota Tundra truck south when he crossed into the northbound lane and into the path of a Coach USA commercial passenger bus.

To avoid a collision, the bus driver moved to the southbound lane, but the Tundra did the same and hit the front of the bus almost head-on.

Officials identified Randle Lawrence Durant, 71, as the fatal victim of the crash.

Meanwhile, medics rushed the bus driver to Humboldt General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and two other passengers were treated and released on the scene.

At the moment, an active investigation is underway to contain additional information.
