JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles, will kick off  RAMEN DISCOVERIES, a limited-time culinary  popup series experience, as part of the recently opened “The Art of the Ramen Bowl” exhibition, on Friday, May 6. The series will run through July 31 and features collaborations spotlighting seven different ramen concepts, including a variety of regional ramens (Tokyo, Kumamoto, Fukushima, and Yokohama). 

The demonstrations will take place at the JAPAN HOUSE restaurant space on the fifth floor of Ovation Hollywood (formerly Hollywood & Highland) on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., with last order at 7:15 p.m. Ramen will be served in a variety of l Mino ceramic donburi (bowls). Bucket Listers, the  popular online community built on exploring cities together, presents their Emo Brunch themed experience weekends through Sunday, May 29, at the Bourbon Room in Hollywood. There will be mimosas, Pancakes! At The Disco, Ocean Ave Overnight Oats, Hash-Brown Confessional, and Jimmy Eat French Toast, as well as the Fall Out Boy Burger and the You’re So Last Summer Sweet And Spicy Jidori Fried Chicken Sandwich. Perfectly pop-punk beverage options include Coffee & Cambria, Drink-182, and a Paramore Mimosa. The 90-minute sessions run $50 and include the choice of a main entree and welcome mimosa or nonalcoholic beverage.

As part of its ongoing centennial celebration, starting today and the third Thursday of every following month, The Tam O’Shanter will be offering a whiskey-tasting event featuring independent bottlers at the top of their craft. The tasting costs $100 per person and features: Four one-of-a-kind hand-picked whiskies from independent bottlers, featuring bottlings from Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS), Gordon & MacPhail, Duncan Taylor and Single Cask Nation, as well as an assortment of light snacks, in-depth explanations into the characteristics, history and tasting notes for each whiskey, and 20% off dinner before or after the tasting. Additionally, every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., The Tam will be hosting a Trivia Night with King Trivia. The game is free to play in the bar. For Earth Day weekend, Brave Robot will be popping up at local LA restaurants and bars handing out free animal-free dairy ice cream to customers. Brave Robot’s ice cream truck stops throughout the weekend will include:

  • April 23, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Prince Street Pizza (9161 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood)

Then on Friday, April 22 only, guests who save the environment by bringing in their own reusable mug can receive a free batch brew at all Verve Coffee Roaster locations, from open to close, one day only.
