Fanny’s Oscar Nominee-Inspired Cocktails are back, available through Tuesday, March 31, at the restaurant inside the Academy Museum. The limited-time cocktail menu inspired by each of this year’s Oscar best picture nominees includes:
- Bugonia – Outfitters gin, yellow chartreuse, lavender-infused kumquat, strawberry tuile
- F1 – Suerte tequila, Lillet Blanc, sherry, peach bitters
- Frankenstein – Saint Louise Brandy, Averna, mulled wine, ginger
- Hamnet – Smirnoff 80p, chareau, elderflower, snap pea, aquafaba
- Marty Supreme – Royal Standard rum, Juliette peach liqueur, bell pepper syrup, lime
- One Battle after Another – La tTerra de acre mezcal, cocchi americano, bloody mary syrup, peroni, lime
- The Secret Agent (NA) – mango, coconut cream, lime
- Sentimental Value (NA) – Seedlip Spice, fennel, grapefruit, lemon, tonic
- Sinners – overholt rye, demerara fish sauce, garlic-infused absinthe
- Train Dreams – outfitters gin, basil eau de vie, rosemary
Plus, there’s still room at Fanny’s Oscars Watch Party on Sunday, March 15 from 3 p.m. to -8 .pm.) Tickets include a welcome glass of bubbles, passed hors d’oeuvres during the red carpet, and access to savory and sweet dessert stations throughout the broadcast, all inspired by the elevated hospitality of the Governor’s Ball. For those observing Ramadan, Maydan, the new anchor restaurant inside the recently opened Maydan Market, will be offering a special Ramadan Tawle menu with a variety of Middle Eastern classics, all cooked at Maydan’s central communal hearth shared by the various culinary outlets within the food hall. In addition to a pre-set special menu, Maydan will offer its entire menu as Halal.
For Ramadan, Maydan is offering a miniature tawle menu for $70/person. Tawle, which means table in Arabic, features communal dining that defines Maydan and is designed for groups. The family-style meal includes a spread of salads and dips, seasonal vegetables, grilled kebabs, halloumi, and fresh-baked Tone bread, all meant to be passed around the table. Book via OpenTable. - Mouneh Platter: house-pickled vegetables, honey-soaked dates, mint, parsley, scallions
- Hummus: Chickpeas, tahini, lemon, garnished with sumac
- Walnut Casik: Served with bread, Maydan’s casik is rich with Kefir labne, fresh herbs, and Persian cucumber
- Dango: Stewed chickpeas with Urfa and lime
- Halloumi; scorching from the hearth and arriving in a cast iron skillet, Maydan’s Halloumi includes Egyptian peanut dukkah and wild flower honey
- Field Lettuce Salad: bright with citrus, pistachios, red wine vinaigrette
- Lamb Shish Kebab: grilled over the fire and marinated in Kefir labne and cumin
- Chicken Shish Taouk: smoky from the grill, Maydan’s chicken kebab is marinated in garlic, fenugreek, and pomegranate molasses
- Oyster Mushroom Kebab: Bright and meaty, marinated in red shatta, tahina, cumin, and fenugreek
