37-Year-Old Man Killed in Fatal Car Crash on 10 Freeway in Fontana

FONTANA, CA (April 15, 2021)Rafael Torres, 38, of San Bernardino, was killed in a fatal car crash on 10 Freeway, Saturday night.

The deadly collision occurred around 11:20 p.m., April 3, on the 10 Freeway just east of Sierra Avenue.

According to authorities, a Scion TC was traveling east of the freeway at about 75 miles per hour. For reasons unknown, the Scion rear-ended a Ford F-150.

As a result, the Scion lost control and veered right through all the lanes, eventually crashing into a tree and chain link fence.

The driver of the Scion TC was the 38-year-old Rafael Torres. Paramedics arrived at the scene and declared him dead on the spot.

At this time, it is unknown whether the Ford driver sustained any injuries.

Police continue to investigate the crash. Officials asked anyone with further information to contact Officer B. Holguin at the San Bernardino CHP Office at 909-383-4247.
