Police Search for Hit-and-Run Driver after Collision on 3rd Street

SANTA ANA, CA (September 2, 2021) – Thursday morning, 84-year-old Rafael Garcia was struck and injured in front of his home on 3rd Street.

According to reports, Garcia was standing next to his parked truck on West 3rd Street when he was struck by a westbound vehicle. Officers were dispatched around 10:51 a.m.

Firefighters and paramedics arrived to the scene shortly after and found Garcia laying on the ground with critical wounds.

It was later confirmed by investigators that the driver of the vehicle that struck Rafael Garcia fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.

In addition, investigators also described the suspect vehicle as possibly a 2006 to 2010 black Toyota Corolla. It also has oxidized paint on its roof.

Moreover, those with further information are asked to contact police as soon as possible.

There has been no update on the current condition of Rafael Garcia.
