70-Year-Old Man Dies in Collision on Michigan Drive in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ (August 17, 2021) – Saturday on August 7, 70-year-old Rafael Celaya, was fatally struck in a crash on 6th Avenue.

The crash took place at the intersection of South 6th Avenue and East Michigan Drive, around 3:00 p.m.

According to authorities, Celaya was heading west in a white 2005 Volvo S60 when he failed to stop in a posted stop sign. As a result, he collided with a northbound blue 2014 Ford F-150 pickup-truck.

Further events leading up to the crash remain unclear. However, reports indicate that the driver of the Ford was not impaired at the time of the collision.

At this time, the investigation is still going on. More information will be provided once available.
