You've endured symphonic, country, electronica and even polka versions of your favorite heavy metal songs, some by the artists/offenders themselves. (Remember Metallica's S&M album with
the San Francisco Symphony?). Now, it's time for Metalachi's mariachi covers. The quintet of singer Vega De La Rockha, violinist Maximilian “Dirty” Sanchez, guitarist Ramon Holiday, guitarronist Poncho Rockafeller and trumpeter El Cucuy — five brothers from another mother born in a “Super Ocho motor lodge in Veracruz, Mexico” — rework such classics as Ozzy Osbourne's “Crazy Train,” Judas Priest's “Breaking the Law,” Gun N' Roses' “Sweet Child o' Mine” and Iron
Maiden's “Run to the Hills,” while wearing sombreros paired with leather jackets, zebra-stripped pants and knee bandanas. If you thought the Scorpions' “Winds of Change” was a schmaltzy
power ballad, wait until you hear the song set to horns and mashed up with Metallica's “Master of Puppets” and “Nothing Else Matters” and John Lennon's “Imagine.” Not surprisingly, the band is sponsored by 901 Tequila.
