Two Dead, Three Hospitalized Following Multi-Vehicle Accident Near Charleston Boulevard

LAS VEGAS, NV (February 15, 2023) Early Sunday morning, a wrong-way crash on 215 Beltway claimed the lives of Quinyana Lonyae Long and Jose Cutberto Tabares-Acosta. The fatal accident happened at 2:39 a.m. along the 215 northbound on February 5th. According to reports, a white Cadillac passenger car was traveling south in the northbound lane of the 215 Beltway for unknown reasons when it collided head-on with a red Chevrolet pickup in the far left lane. As a result, both cars spun counterclockwise, and the Chevrolet collided with a Nissan in the middle lane. First responders arrived and declared the female driver of the white Cadillac, 39-year-old Quinyana Lonyae Long dead at the scene. Paramedics took the Chevrolet female adult passenger to UMC Trauma with serious injuries, while the Chevrolet male driver, 48-year-old Jose Cutberto Tabares-Acosta, died on the spot. Other medics also transported the Nissan male adult driver and one female adult passenger to UMC Trauma with moderate injuries. Moreover, police closed the northbound area of the 215 for several hours to give way for cleaning operations. At this time, authorities are unsure as to what caused the tragic wrong-way crash, however, an active investigation is underway.
