Marking three decades of queendom in L.A., Dragstrip 66, celebrated its “30th Anniversary Reunion” this past Saturday, April 22 at Los Globos with live performances and DJ Paul V. on the decks. For the promoters, the party wasn’t just make-up and mindless fun, it was a declaration: drag is about joy and community and expression–  a message that is more significant than ever.

“When we started Dragstrip 66 in 1993, our activism was laser focused on keeping our friends with HIV and AIDS alive,” says Club co-creator DJ Paul V. “And here we are now, 30 years later, with an insidious new plague called MAGA. So I am counting on this next generation to be twice as fearless and ten times angrier and politically active!”
