So you won't be ringing in the New Year with royalty — why not celebrate as if your blood were as blue as the Windsors'? You can, aboard Long Beach's most famous lady: the Queen Mary. (Yep, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor once sailed her, as did Winston Churchill.) Sure, you'll still be landlocked (the old gal hasn't sailed in years), but you can partake of multiple parties, all in one place. One ticket gives you entrance to six different onboard parties, where you can sway to jazz in one of the ship's historic salons; sing along to dueling pianos; kick up your heels to the sounds of disco; dance oh-so-close to the big band; work up a sweat during sets by a local DJ; or opt for contemporary and Top 40. It's not all about cocktails, as dining options include a buffet in the Britannia Salon ($49.95 per person) or lighter fare in the Promenade Cafe. As the clock strikes midnight, we're talking a fireworks display. If you’ve had too much bubbly, you're in luck, as all aboard may stay aboard, with the Queen Mary New Year's Eve Hotel and Ticket Package, which includes the evening bash, a stateroom, dinner credit and breakfast.
