Excavator Falls off Semi-Truck, Kills Pyong Yun Song

NIPOMO, CA (September 3, 2021) – On Wednesday, 60-year-old Pyong Yun Song was killed after an excavator fell from the back of a semi-truck along the 101.

According to reports, Song was traveling northbound on Highway 101 in a 2008 Cadillac Escalade.

For reasons unknown, a semi-truck blew a tire, causing the excavator it was transporting to fall atop Song’s SUV.

First responders arrived and declared Pyong Yun Song dead at the scene.

In addition, the driver of the semi-truck, David Edmunson, received minor injuries.

Nipomo authorities have launched an investigation into the cause and factors leading to this tragic accident.
