Punks Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day: Two Celtic punk bands — Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly — will provide the soundtrack to St. Patrick’s Day via separate livestreamed gigs.

The Dropkick Murphys’ event, dubbed “2021 Still Locked Down,” takes place at 4 p.m. our time and the band’s Ken Casey said in a statement:

“Instead of charging for tickets, we’re going to ‘pass the virtual hat’ so you can donate what you’d like to help support us in our efforts to keep paying our employees. When we did the first two free live streams for charity, our fans were super generous and we raised lots of money for good causes. But frankly, we’ve been out of work for over a year, so this one, we’ve gotta make about us. Of course, a portion will also go to charity, as always!”

Four hours earlier, Flogging Molly will be performing in Dublin, Ireland and livestreaming globally. Frontman Dave King said: “In any house, even in the darkest of times, there’s always a room, a room for celebration. In over twenty years together, this is our first ever show from the Emerald Isle on St. Patrick’s Day. Welcome to Ireland. Let’s celebrate! From our family to yours, Sláinte!”
