Public School 310, a concept that started in a Daily Grill location downtown, is opening their first freestanding gastropub today in Culver City. If things go well for the restaurant you can expect to see more Public School locations nationwide. The Daily Grill already has 29 locations around the country, and Public School is their attempt to capitalize on the popularity of gastropubs. There's already plans for a “coming soon” Public School 805 in Westlake Village.

The focus here is beer, with 24 beers on draft, and they've hired “resident beer expert” Tate Kline, who has worked with the Beer Chicks in the past. Food is geared towards those beers, with dishes like Irish stout short ribs. There will also be cocktails on tap. The restaurant plans to begin classes during the evenings, focusing on stuff like beer and food pairings, some time in the upcoming months.
