Chuck D, of Public Enemy and Prophets of Rage, is more than a multi-platinum recording artist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. He's also an artist, and some of his artwork is on display in his first solo exhibition, “Behind the Seen,” at Pasadena's Gallery 30 South.

Chuck D actually earned a degree in graphic design, and his work combines a graphic artist's sensibility with his own unique take on the aspect of pop culture history of which he's a part.

Chuck D was present at the opening on Sunday, March 4, to meet and mingle with patrons and collectors. The show runs through the month of March at Gallery 30 South, 30 S. Wilson Ave., Pasadena. Gallery hours are Wednesday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
