The Grammy telecast might be a snooze, but during awards week its host city is anything but. Surprise stage jams and DJ sets, official and unofficial shindigs and a overall anything-can- happen/anyone-might-show vibe and excitement takes over LA's clubs and events… You don't need to be Jay-Z and Beyonce to get into all of them either (just most of 'em).

And the nominees for parties with the most Grammy-inspired glitz and pop-star pop-in potential are…

(**) Starred events are invite only/VIP… unstarred means mere mortals can buy a ticket or RSVP to get in.

Les DeuxWed., Feb. 4 (tonight)-

A “special suprise guest performance” is promised at this Grammy week bash featuring Rob Patterson (ex Korn/Carmen Electra's fiance) on the decks among others. No clue who it might be, but judging from the party's past suprise sets, expect a blinger or club banger biggie.

MGMT DJ set at Bardot- Wed., Feb. 4 (tonight)

The band who made it onto many a critics '08 Top 10 list, takes a spin on the decks at the uber-hip and exclusive weekly bash known as La Boum. Guess the password for entrance or don the unofficial uniform: boho hobo or nerdy chic ala the band's album cover. 1735 N. Vine St.

The Black Eyed Peas' Peapod Benefit- Thurs., Feb. 5 at the Conga Room

We've seen everyone from Justin Timberlake to Sergio Mendez to Slash join the Peas onstage for their annual jam, and though no specific guest performers have been advertised, will.i.am's list of collaborators almost assure the pod will be

star-packed. Even if it's just Fergilicious and the boys, we expect elephunk-size fun.

**Friends and Family BashFri., Feb. 6 at Paramount Studios– Talib Kweli, Pete Rock, DJ AM, and more pump up the jams for music industry folk and their pals.

**MusiCares Tribute to Neil DiamondFri., Feb. 6 at LA Convention Center- Adele, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Jonas Brothers and more luminaries pay tribute to the big D.

**Clive Davis' GalaSat., Feb. 7 at the Beverly Hilton Hote.

Though Sony has apparently ceased funding the music mogul's flamboyant annual fete, it's going strong thanks to becoming an officially sanctioned/sponsored Grammy event this year. Whitney Houston is rumored to be making her long-touted comeback with a performance.

**Rhino/Los Angeles Mag's Grammy BashSat.,

Feb. 7 at Avalon– The New York Dolls perform, notably only a few days after the

birthday of departed bassist Arthur “Killer” Kane.
