Halloween might be the High Holy Day for the gay community in the rest of the country, but in West Hollywood, L.A. Pride weekend is the gayest time of the year. The annual festival for LGBT folks includes hundreds of exhibitors, a carnival, a water park, a children's area and an entire Erotic City hosted by someone who's earned the title of Mr. Christopher Street West Leather 2012. Belinda Carlisle of The Go-Go's, American Idol's Frenchie Davis and Chelsea Lately comedian Fortune Feimster are among the two dozenÐplus performers filling three stages. And Carlisle's '80s cohort Molly Ringwald — the once-prissy redhead and object of affection of many a guy and girl back in the day — is the grand marshal of this year's parade, which, along with the Dyke March and Pride Run, is the fest's highlight. So go ahead and wave your arms, freak flag or protest sign, for you, too, are the 99 percent, albeit a much more stylish bunch. Festival at West Hollywood Park, 647 N. San Vicente Blvd. Parade along Santa Monica Blvd. between Fairfax Ave. & Doheny Drive; Fri., June 8, 7:30 p.m.; thru June 10; $20, $12 seniors, free children under 12. (323) 969-8302; lapride.org.
