Update: L.A. County voters continue to come through for Governor Jerry Brown. At 12:26 a.m., with 46 percent of precincts reporting, L.A. voters back Prop. 30 with 58 percent of the vote.

As of 10:47 p.m., Governor Jerry Brown and his Proposition 30 are still in the game. California Secretary of State Debra Bowen has deemed Brown's tax hike bid a “close contest,” with Prop. 30 only down by 1 percentage point.

It had been rough going for Brown earlier in the night, but residents in Los Angeles County, a large and very important voting center in statewide campaigns, are starting to line up heavily behind the governor and Proposition 30.

According the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder, 53 percent of voters support Proposition 30. If those numbers continue, Brown could end up a winner.
