If Prince was sticking to his Jehovah's Witness faith, he didn't celebrate his 54th birthday last week. (The religion considers birthdays pagan.) And giving him gifts is pointless anyhow, because he's probably at the point where he has everything — purple, anyhow — already.

Nothing about his increasing age makes him any less fascinating and enigmatic, however. As the years have stacked up, so have the electronic press clippings. Besides being amazing at things, he's also the weirdest, the funniest and the most likely to tell Kim Kardashian to take a hike. We've compiled the best stories on him in recent years below, most of which come from our sister blog at Minneapolis City Pages.
