Primus Rush to the Greek: There’s never a dull moment when funk-metal pioneers Primus are around. We saw them a couple of years ago at Slayer’s final show at the Forum, still delighting some and baffling others. The Sailing the Seas of Cheese album remains a mini-classic, thanks to iconic singles “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver” and “Tommy the Cat.”

It’s been a few years since their last full length album — 2017’s The Desaturating Seven. But on this tour, they’re performing a tribute to Rush’s 1977 album A Farewell to Kings. So that should be interesting. If there’s a bassist/vocalist capable of matching Geddy Lee’s virtuosity, it’s Les Claypool. Black Mountain are also on the bill.

Primus Rush to the Greek: The event takes place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 17 at the Greek Theatre.
