69-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Collision near Clark Street

MORENO VALLEY, CA (October 13, 2021) – Monday morning, Primitivo Martinez, 69, was fatally struck by a tow-truck on Box Springs Road.

Per reports, Martinez was crossing the road just east of Clark Street around 7:22 a.m. There, he was struck by a tow-truck turning left onto westbound Box Springs.

As per the Sheriff’s Department, paramedics transferred Martinez to a local hospital, where he later died due to the extent of his condition.

Following preliminary investigations, intoxication did not appear to be a factor in the collision. Investigators say, the tow truck driver’s vision was “said to have been obscured by sunlight.”

Moreover, the accident occurred in an area without marked crosswalks. However, no further information has been released.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is still underway.
