Pretty Boy Floyd Back at the Whisky: Through unkind, cynical eyes, Pretty Boy Floyd might always be viewed as the also-rans of the Hollywood sleaze rock scene. Their debut album, Leather Boyz with Electric Toyz, wasn’t released until ’89, when the whole hair movement was in the process of winding down, and while the “Rock and Roll (Is Gonna Set the Night on Fire)” single remains a crowd favorite, they didn’t have any major hits. But here’s the thing — it takes more than a few chartbusters to create a valid scene. PBF have a few full lengthers jam-packed with quality, anthemic hard rock, and they continue to work their butts off. More, it’s great to see them back at the Whisky where they belong.

The Raskins, Guitar & Whiskey Club, Sinister Fate, Fallout Kings, Molly Vamp, and If I Fall also play so get there early.

Pretty Boy Floyd Back at the Whisky: The event takes place at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 3 at the Whisky A Go Go.

Back in 2017, on the verge of releasing their Public Enemies album, PBF singer Steve Summers told this writer: “I would hate to sound like so many other bands, but I think the record is gonna do the talking,” he says. “If you’re a fan of Leather Boyz…, if you’re a fan of some of the greatest glam rock, anything from Mötley Crüe to Kiss to LA Guns — all of their best records, all that stuff, then this is gonna blow you away. It’s our best stuff. We’re glad to be on Frontier Records; a lot of bands from back in the heyday are on that label, so that’s cool. The label is excited about that type of music and stuff like that, so to us it’s gonna blow people away.”
