What have Cake been up to?

It’s pretty amazing the quirky indie group have been active since 1991, more than a whopping three decades. Two founding members, Vince DiFiore who plays a variety of instruments including the trumpet and keyboard, and John McCrea, who’s on lead vocals, guitar, piano and organ, have sustained as part of the band, while current members Todd Roper and Xan McCurdy have both been members since the 90s.

The last time they released new music was in 2018, the single “Sinking Ship,” which was the only release since their last full-length 2011 album Showroom of Compassion. There was talk of an follow-up to that album but it hasn’t happened yet. But with the announcement of this tour, we’re keeping our fingers crossed!
