L.A. city employees have been caught going to strip clubs, drinking beer and even apparently napping on-the-job in recent years. It's great work if you can get it.

But what's the world coming to when you can't participate in a porn video while you're on-the-clock? We think it's an issue of Freedom of Speech. Instead of writing parking tickets, L.A. Department of Transportation traffic officer John Dancler was finally fired after NBC Los Angeles was alerted to an online porn video clip featuring the city employee (as part of an “investigation”).

An LADOT spokesperson confirmed the dismissal to the Weekly late Thursday.

NBC4, which broke the story of the officer's firing Thursday, says he's the one seen on tape fondling a porn performer's breasts and spanking her.

Another employee, whom the station says allowed the performer inside his parking patrol vehicle, where she performed, er, acts on herself, was spared the ax but “received appropriate discipline,” the spokesperson said.

Meanwhile Dancler's lawyer says he'll fight the firing, telling the station:

We believe the city's action is totally unwarranted and…we believe it's a wrongful termination.

Like we said: Freedom of speech.

Besides, we'd be willing to be nobody got a ticket during the filming of this porn. And that's a good thing if you park in L.A.
