Name 5 things you learned in Boy Scouts that help you in your daily life.

I do laugh a little bit about this, because they're things that you would know, and may not expect at the same time.

The Boy Scout Motto, Be Prepared.

From day one they ingrained this into my head. Sometimes it's obvious, such as having enough water for a hike, appropriate uniform for that job I'm doing, or the right tools for the project. Sometimes, it's knowing and accepting that “plan A” didn't work out, so “plan B” must be implemented.

The Boy Scout Law: A Scout is: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent.

These 12 points are all points that I make sure to live by and therefore allow me to move smoothly through whatever project or task I may be undertaking. People tend to respond better to these traits, and others that exude these are also much more enjoyable to be around.

Teamwork and Leadership.

Throughout all my years in scouting, my peers and I would trade off being leaders and the followers. Knowing when and where a leader is needed to accomplish whatever I may need to is just as important as knowing when to be following the authority that is leading us.

Resourcefulness

I had been taught to use what is around me and in my environment to accomplish whatever I needed to; physical, personal or emotional. Doesn't matter how barren or abundant that environment may be.

The Difference Between Ordeal and Adventure Is Attitude.

This quote could not be truer of everything. You hate the ordeals, but you love the adventures, and the only difference is how you looked at it. Change it up for the positive, and you find that you'll not only have an easier time accomplishing what you set out for, but you'll also be more successful at it as well. Who knows, you may even come to actually like it too.
