President Obama might have been taken down a notch by Mitt Romney's beatdown in their first debate last week.

But he should be buoyed, heartened and flush with new vigor after hearing this good news: The porn industry overwhelmingly supports the incumbent for reelection, it would appear.

This revelation isn't exactly huge news for the purveyors of pervy content, however:

The industry has long feared that if Mitt Romney is elected he would institute a federal crackdown on obscenity of the type seen during the years of President George W. Bush (at least a couple prominent producers were dragged into court, and one was jailed for multiple years).

And smut king Larry Flynt himself has put up $1 million for Romney's unpublished tax returns and info on his overseas accounts.

The industry trade site XBIZ polled the industry via its social network and got 399 responses, which would make the results unscientific but nonetheless telling.

About 68 percent said they're voting Obama while only 13 percent would vote for Romney.

In fact, the Republican was beat out by “someone else,” which got the endorsement of 14 percent of the porn-biz folks.

So now L.A.'s other film industry backs Obama.

Of course, you probably won't hear the president trumpeting this on the campaign trail or flying out for adult fund-raisers. But right now he could probably use all the help he can get.
