Pop-Up Magazine has been selling out auditoriums in San Francisco, and now it finally arrives in L.A. The event invites storytellers from journalism, film, radio, photography and illustration to tell a tale in the medium of his or her choice and, indeed, unfolds just like a magazine. The host and creator is Douglas McGray, the editor-in-chief of the California Sunday Magazine, which now comes with Sunday editions of newspapers across the state. Presenters will include the authors Susan Orlean and Rebecca Skloot, KCRW producer Anayansi Diaz-Cortes, photographer Stan Ruiz and the Magik*Magik Orchestra.
