In L.A. we have the drive-by shooting, the car-to-car shooting and now, on election day, the poll-worker shooting.

Yeah. In Watts yesterday civic-minded voters were reminded why we need our police and fire department when a poll worker was shot before their very eyes.

The attack was the result of …

… a love triangle, police said.

It was reported at 9:40 a.m. outside 92nd Street Elementary School, where the victim was working the polls, the LAPD's Bruce Borihanh said.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and the suspect fled, not to be seen again, at least not so far, cops said.

Phil Tingirides, commander of the department's Southeast Division, told KCAL News that the shooting was the result of a love triangle. The victim and suspect were apparently in a dispute over a woman who was, by the way, questioned by officers.

Amazingly, the poll stayed open so people could vote. Because that's how we do in L.A.
