Elderly Man Killed in Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on 56th Street and Tierra Buena Lane

PHOENIX, AZ (April 1, 2021) – Early Thursday morning on April 1, a 67-year-old man was killed in a deadly hit-and-run crash on 56th Street.

Phoenix Police arrived to the scene around 5:46 a.m., on Tierra Buena Lane and 56th Street. According to reports, a white pickup-truck struck the pedestrian and fled the scene.

When emergency crews arrived, they pronounced the man dead on scene. At the time, he was not in the marked crosswalk.

Those with more information regarding the crash on 56th Street are asked to contact local authorities as soon as possible.

The surrounding area at the intersection was closed during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.

An active investigation still remains ongoing. Once available, more information about the hit-and-run crash on 56th Street will be released to the public.
