You know a scene is taking off in a city when two major events end up on the same day. That's the case with Jpop and Jrock this weekend in LA.

Saturday afternoon, Royal/T and The Valley of the Dolls, who wowed party people last spring's Mad Tea Party, are hosting Candyland, a sweet Lolita themed event coinciding with the release of Japanese fashion label Angelic Pretty's new line of Pullip dolls. DJs from the popular monthly club night Tune in Tokyo will be on hand to spin the latest in Jpop and Jrock sounds. Expect lots of perky electro-pop from the likes of Perfume and capsule.

That evening, Vamps will be playing at the Wiltern. Considered to be a Jrock super-duo, the group features guitarist and vocalist Hyde, of L'Arc~en~Ciel, and K.A.Z. of Oblivion Dust. The band's self-titled debut, which is recorded primarily in English, isn't out yet just came out and we've found a few clips from the group, including a cover of “Trouble,” the 1990s hit from Shampoo.
