The annual Planned Parenthood Los Angeles fundraiser takes place on Thursday, March 19 at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar and will honor Akasha Restaurant’s namesake, Akasha Richmond, as the 2020 Food Fare Chef of the Year.
PPLA is bringing together no less than 150 of L.A.’s best restaurants, including Michael’s Santa Monica, Milo and Olive, Rao’s, Lucques, Socalo, Go Get Em Tiger, Canter’s and Clementine with plenty of beer, wine and spirits to raise funds to provide affordable, non-judgmental and confidential reproductive health care services to communities throughout Los Angeles County.
“The 41 annual Food Fare is a tribute to LA’s culinary diversity and a celebration of the important role that Planned Parenthood Los Angeles’ health centers play in our community,” said PPLA president and CEO Sue Dunlap in a statement. “I’m inspired by the volunteers of the guild who work tirelessly to serve the L.A. community and to host this one-of-a-kind dining experience that raises funds and awareness for Planned Parenthood’s mission and work.”
