Plan Check x Stussy Burger Collaboration Begins Saturday

It seems that Plan Check's fashionable burgers have finally met their match. Beginning on Saturday, May 11, the popular Sawtelle Boulevard gastropub will be collaborating with longtime surf and street brand Stussy on a one week customized menu. For $45, diners will get access to an off menu burger and fries combo, with a housemade cruller donut and a pint of beer. And if you act fast, you might even get your hands on a T-shirt.

In typical Stussy fashion, the collaboration burger is a mix of tradition and innovation with plenty of Southern California flair. Dubbed the SS PCB, as in Smoky Spicy Plan Check Burger, the restaurant's existing Wagyu beef patties are layered with two thick strips of smoked bacon and draped over with a runny, melty habañero cheese. There are reduced onions and a few thin pickles, as well as Plan Check's science-defying ketchup leather, those pressed-upon condiment sheets that melt directly into the burger bun. But the final piece of the SS PCB burger is the Sriracha leather at the very bottom, for a truly spicy and smoky experience.

The skin on Russet fries are also a one-off iteration, slow cooked in beef tallow and dusted over with garlic, parmesan and a heavy dose of truffle salt. Plus, for the $45 price tag you get a pint of Venice Beach Beer and one seriously loaded donut, with pistachio ice cream and a handful of the firm and sugary marshmallow chunks you might remember from your Saturday morning cereal.

The Plan Check x Stussy collaboration begins on Saturday, May 11 and runs for one week only. The first 100 people to RSVP in advance for the $45 menu will also take home a special Stussy gift pack that includes a T-shirt. Reservations can be made by emailing stussy@plancheckbar.com. And for the rest of us who don't consider it a true meal at Plan Check without ordering up at least one Southern Fry sandwich, don't worry; the full regular menu will be available as well.
