Pedestrian-Truck Collision near Sixth Street Left 84-Year-Old Woman Dead

BEAUMONT, CA (June 7, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a pedestrian accident on Highland Springs Avenue claimed the life of 84-year-old Pla Khang. The collision happened around 8:40 a.m. near the intersection of Highland Springs Avenue and Sixth Street. Based on the investigation, a big rig struck the pedestrian walking in an unknown direction on Sixth Street. Afterward, the involved driver immediately pulled over as witnesses contacted 911. Paramedics from the Riverside County Fire Department declared the woman dead at the scene. She was later identified as 84-year-old Pla Khang of Banning. Police said the trucker remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Authorities ruled out intoxication as a factor in the incident. At this time, Beaumont Officials are asking anyone with information about the pedestrian crash to contact the agency’s traffic bureau at 951-769-8500.
