Oh, the good old Pinot Noir days. When Sideways ruled the screen, Merlot was the bastard child, and hair gel was the residual left in the glass.

You can re-live those toss-it-back days at Pinot Days at the Santa Monica airport hanger in two weeks. The festival, touting 70+ Pinot Noir producers, primarily from Northern California and Oregon, is the first of its kind on Los Angeles (ya, ya, but some top producers will be there, like Gary Farrell, La Rochelle and Olson Ogden).

It's going to cost you $50 to get in the door — $45 if you offer up the 10% off LA Weekly reader code (enter the code LAWeeklySC10 when you buy your tickets). But that's less than what many of the bottles will cost you, so consider it an equal opportunity sip. And just think, $5 off and you'll still get the who-knows-what food samples from folks like the California Cheese and Butter Association.
