Four full days and nights of eating and drinking booze under the hot sun. And not one arrest, according to an L.A.P.D. officer regulating the Taste of Beverly Hills. Last week and weekend, from September 2nd to the 5th, the first annual culinary expo at the Beverly Hilton drew in a crowd of men and women sampling small plates from dozens of Beverly Hills and L.A. restaurants. “They must have done something right,” chef Ted Allen said of the event, during his spin on bruschetta cooking demonstration on Saturday. There were spiced pork ribs from Mr. Cecil's, Merguez chicken bites from Savore, artichoke ravoli with toasted Parmesan from Napa Valley Grille, vegetarian samosas from Bombay Palace, salmon tartare from Fraiche, viles of homemade vodka, slurred words, and much more.
