62-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in DUI Collision near Los Coches Street

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (November 18, 2022) – Early Tuesday morning, Scott McDonough was arrested and Phong Khuu was killed in a DUI crash.

Officers responded to the scene around 4:30 a.m., on Sunn Avenue near Los Coches Street.

According to reports, a gray Honda CRV was making a U-turn and hit Khuu while he was riding his bicycle on eastbound Sunn Avenue.

Upon arrival, medical responders declared 62-year-old Khuu, of Garden Grove dead at the scene.

Following preliminary investigations, officers identified the involved driver as 43-year-old McDonough, of Fountain Valley. Police arrested him for DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
