Pedestrian Struck and Killed near Pole Line Road

DAVIS, CA (April 13, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, police arrested Phillip Duane McShan following a fatal pedestrian-auto collision on Interstate 80. The deadly crash happened around 12:30 a.m., east of Pole Line Road. According to reports, a black 2023 Polestar traveling west hit a pedestrian walking in the lanes of Interstate 80 for unknown reasons. The collision left the pedestrian with serious injuries. First responders to the site of the accident declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. However, officials have not released the identity of the pedestrian. Meanwhile, authorities arrested the Polestar driver, identified as Phillip Duane McShan of Fairfield. At this time, the investigators believed that alcohol contributed to the incident. No other details of the Interstate 80 pedestrian crash have been disclosed to the public.
