A San Fernando Valley doctor was in scalding hot water today after state medical officials announced his arrest for allegedly sexually attacking a patient while he was performing work for the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Pez Abrahams, whose family practice and plastic surgery office is listed in Winnekta, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful sexual penetration and sexual battery, the Medical Board of California stated today:

The board said a warrant was issued for his arrest and that he was taken into custody today. Here’s what it says, via a statement to the Weekly and other outlets:

It is alleged that during a medical examination for the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service, Dr. Abrahams inappropriately examined a patient.

After the sex-assault allegations were made, the Medical Board’s Operation Safe Medicine team along with the LAPD investigated, the board said.

Linda Whitney, the board’s executive director:

This investigation, arrest, and the formal criminal charges stemming from the investigation reflects positively on the Medical Board’s ongoing commitment to fulfill the mission of public protection.
