There’s a pop-up market at Helen J Gallery on Saturday, Jan. 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. The gallery will be hosting MAUM, a first of its kind market featuring Korean American makers across food and drink, ceramics and art, including By Jiyoon, Hanok Coffee, Luck Rice Cake, The Dirty Whisk, Jeong Coffee, Out of Thin Air, GANCHIC, Loaf Language and Rice Blossoms. Admission is free, RSVP required.

Pepsi will introduce a limited-edition Pepsi ColaCream Donut exclusively available at Randy’s Donuts original Inglewood location starting Sunday, Jan. 23. Fans can purchase the Pepsi ColaCream Combo Box to receive a 20 oz. Pepsi and the donut inside a specially marked box with a QR code to enter to win prizes like custom-made Pepsi and Randy’s sneakers, a year’s supply of Pepsi, and other merchandise. A nod to  nostalgic soda shop flavors, the striped Pepsi-Cola and cream comes complete with the signature Pepsi globe on top of the donut. 

U Street Pizza is launching lunch this week. Available Tuesday through Sunday, from noon to 3 p.m., you can choose from U Street’s menu of their NYC-by-way-of-LA round pies like Vodka Pepperoni, as well as salads and sides like the Green Goddess Chopped and Braised Meatballs. The team recently launched an Old Town Hour Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., where you can snag a slice of the new square pies and sip on $10 cocktails, $8 glasses of wine and $5 local beers. U Street Pizza is the sibling restaurant of UNION, located next door, offering up New York-style pizza, and has outdoor and indoor seating.

And speaking of pies, National Pie Day is Sunday, Jan. 23. To celebrate safely and in the comfort of your own kitchen, you can pick up a DIY pie kit from The Pie Hole, at any Pie Hole location. Flavors include fan favorite Earl Grey pie with a butter crust followed by a layer of dark chocolate ganache. The Mexican Chocolate pie is a Mexican-spiced ganache filling with its signature graham cracker crust topped with espresso whipped cream. The Alone Together pie comes with an Oreo cookie crust and is filled with a heap of peanut butter and filled to the top with dark chocolate ganache, finished with a topping of potato chips.

 

Tanteo Tequila is partnering with local LA bars to raise donations for the Friends of LA River river clean-up, in honor of National Spicy Margarita Day, Wednesday, Jan. 26.  From Monday, Jan. 24 through Sunday, Jan. 30, Tanteo is making donations to raise funds for Friends of LA River:

To celebrate the Year of the Tiger and as an homage to one of the most popular dishes at a Chinese New Year dinner, ROCA’s is offering a limited time Peking Duck Pizza with roasted duck breast, mozzarella, king oyster mushrooms, scallions, cilantro and hoisin sauce available only from Monday, Jan. 24 through Sunday, Feb. 6. Currently located as a pop-up at the Americana in Glendale, ROCA comes from Rick and Esther Rosenfield, creators and owners of California Pizza Kitchen. 

Sugar Palm and Juicy Leaf will hold a succulent-building workshop, and brunch under the palms on the outdoor patio of the Viceroy Hotel’s new restaurant. Juicy Leaf owner Felix Navarro will guide attendees on constructing and caring for their succulent arrangement. Tickets, priced at $65, include a cocktail or mocktail, and a Black Elegance succulent arrangement and can be purchased on OpenTable. Mocktail options include the Wellness Well – Seedlip Garden, aloe vera, cucumber, and lime, or a Spiced Pear – Seedlip Spice, Spiced Pear and lemon. Cocktail options are a Green Bloody Mary with House Green Juice and Vodka, as well as The Botanist, with gin, mezcal, aquafaba, chamomile and lemon.

 Brunch bites from the Sunrise Men include The Coastal Avo Toast with Norwegian lobster tail, and plant-based options like The Veg (Beyond patty, vegan garlic aioli, vine ripe tomato, arugula, vegan cheese, potato bun, served with garlic herb fries).
