66-Year-Old Woman Killed in Pedestrian Collision near Broadway

EVERETT, WA (December 16, 2022) – Sunday morning, Peggy Shea was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on 18th Street.

The incident occurred around 6:20 a.m., near Broadway. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

According to reports, the driver of a vehicle struck Shea as she was walking in the area. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced 66-year-old Shea dead, due to multiple blunt force injuries.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.

Meanwhile, officers investigated the driver for possible DUI. A suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail shorty after. However, they were released and taken to a nearby hospital.
