Pickup Truck Collision Near West Pozo Road Kills 52-Year-Old Woman

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, CA (June 15, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a motorcycle accident along Highway 58 claimed the life of Peggy Masuda.

The fatal collision happened around 1:46 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway, near Wesr Poza Road.

According to the police, a southbound 2007 Harley-Davidson soft-tail motorcycle crossed the double lines for unknown reasons.

Consequently, the motorcyclist collided with a northbound Ford Raptor, driven by 74-year-old Danny Oster of Santa Margarita.

The first responders rushed the female motorcyclist to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo. After a short while, medical personnel declared 52-year-old Peggy Masuda deceased due to her injuries.

Oster sustained minor injuries but was not medically transported, the CHP said. Police ruled out drugs and alcohol to be a factor in the collision.

San Luis Obispo Officials continue to investigate the fatal motorcycle crash.
