On the eve of their 15th anniversary, the Suicide Girls managed to flood Pour Vous with a mass of individuals out for a “night of intimate burlesque.”
Intimacy skewed to claustrophobic levels; people packed in like sardines. Despite the boom of the bass, a stranger's breath on the back of your neck and toxic lighting, it was easy to slip into the Suicide world as they performed acts inspired by Star Wars, Pokemon, The Fifth Element, Fight Club and more.
The energy was unlike anything I've seen at a show, making it obvious why Peek-a-Boo burlesque is here to stay in Hollywood.
