The Breakfast Show is an honest-to-dog old-fashioned comedy/variety show for kids. The monthly party goes from silly to giddy in the same amount of time it takes you sneeze up that raw carrot you're chomping on. Audience members are welcome to make themselves a bowl of their favorite sugary cereal while their parents pretend to lighten up about it. Playing host is actual grown-up Adam Shenkman, a.k.a. Adam-O, who looks like a painted marionette version of Angus Young in his spiffy seersucker shorts-pant suit. A few highlights from past Breakfast Show include “eating cereal out of Gelledemoore the Comedy Wizard's belly” and “an entire audience of children in yellow breakfast club shirts and official Adam-O glasses singing,”Be an animal!'” This month's theme is “Standup Comedy,” and all kids are asked to bring their favorite joke. (Pssst, here's one: “Did Mississippi wear her New Jersey? Idaho. Alaska.”) Colorful guests — some of whom go waaaayyyy over little Rhiannon's head — include “world famous storyteller” David Lunch, Rizzotti the Cereal Chef, Uncle Chickster, Bobby Selander the Prop Comic, Hugh Moore the Classic Comic and kids' band Artichoke. Promises Adam-O, “The next Breakfast Show will take you, the cereal club, on a trip to Li'l Giggles Comedy Club for Children . . . and the two-bowl cereal minimum WILL be enforced.”

First Sunday of every month, 4 & 8 p.m., 2010
